jesus said regarding the era that would experience the "beginning of pangs of distress" from 1914 onward: "this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.

I think the WTS is full of shit, but there is something to the 1914 thing. I was watching a documentary on the history channel and it was talking about the technology and weaponry used in the years before WW1 (1890-1913) and weaponry used during and after WW1 (1914-1918), and the technology and weaponry had advanced so much just in those few years. The level of cataclysm that took place in WW1 is also telling.

Yep....this program is a big-time bust. Just talked to a cat that went who is now doing a slow-fade out. He quit his job and everything to go to MTS. He even quit dating someone so that he could go, because they (MTS) strongly recommended he do so. He got there, graduated and basically they didn't tell him a damn thing. Left him hangin' for 2 years............wow.

Counting Time..what your opinion?

when i was a dub i use to get so mad trying to get in the national average of 10 hours a month.

i would work during the week then get 2 - 2.5 hours on sat for maybe 8 - 10 hours a month.

others like the elders would always be above that average and a lot of the time some of these elders would skip out on vacation or who knows what on half of the saturdays.

Actually in answer to Michael's comment....servants or elders who conduct the congregation bookstudy or watchtower study can count that time. It's all BS of course, because timecounting was NOT done in the first century. It is a bureaucratic policy to help monitor/police the rank and file.
